Welcome to the
MARION KEEFE GALLERY

emptyemptyarion Keefe was born in 1956 in Sydney, Australia and though she has lived in England for the past 21 years, she still holds a dual citizenship. She has been involved in the model horse hobby only since 1994, but she's been a very busy lady in these past years--you'll see what I mean when you visit her impressive gallery of models!

Marion discovered our hobby after seeing a model hobby stand at an horse show where she was showing her real Arabians. She fell head-over-heels in love with a customized Arabian she saw there, and started buying models to customize to fill her own shelves.

Marion paints in acrylics and uses oils for some of her dappling techniques; Marion's hair manes and tails are done in ramie, silk or mohair, though she does have a lot more horses with sculpted manes and tails now as hairing seems to have lost popularity. Her favorite models to work on are Donna Chaney and Linda York resins. Though she also occasionally customizes Breyers, she began switching over to American resins after discovering all there was to offer once she was on-line. Marion is constantly working to improve her skills and looks to the top artists in the hobby for inspiration and technique. If models aren't enough, this talented artist makes tack as well and has found customers in several countries!

emptyMarion used to breed Arabians but now owns a palomino part bred mare after initially 'giving up' real horses in 1998 but finding the models just weren't enough...!!!. Her palomino 'Shulay Zirconia' or 'Nia' as she is known is described by Marion as being - "more pure Arab looking than any of the pure-breds I ever owned..!!"
